Waybill Submission Changes for CPKC Interchange Submissions May 2-3, 2025

CPKC will be making changes to their operating systems that will affect waybill submissions.

As part of this transition, the "KCS" railroad name will be updated to "CPRS" for all waybills intended for interchange with CPKC. Please be aware of the following important dates:

  • May 2, 11:45 PM to May 3, 11:45 PM: During these 24 hours, CPKC will temporarily suspend accepting interchange traffic and halt the submission of new waybills to facilitate the necessary system updates.
  • Beginning May 3, 11:45 PM: All waybills must be submitted using the new "CPRS" designation. Customers are required to update their EDI patterns to align with CPRS. Those utilizing BNSF shipping instructions patterns will be updated by the BNSF team.
