Industrial Products Network Update for Friday, June 21, 2024

Date
Jun 21, 2024

OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
The operation continues to deliver consistent overall service performance on the network. While down slightly from the prior week, car velocity remains above the average for May. Terminal dwell is steady with last week and was reduced from the previous month and our local service compliance measure is averaging over 90%, an improvement versus the prior week.

Heavy rains in the Upper Midwest have caused minor flooding and washouts, and some traffic may be delayed and rerouted over the next 48 hours.

Customers with grain and merchandise shipments destined for Mexico are experiencing extended cycle times while in Mexico. BNSF teams continue to work with their Mexican counterparts to improve fluidity and increase velocity.

SERVICE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
High temperatures exceeding 100 degrees are expected in parts of the desert Southwest and California through the weekend. BNSF teams are conducting additional track inspections and following heat-injury prevention procedures to protect teams and equipment.

For the rest of the network, seasonable weather and favorable operating conditions are expected, with no extreme weather anticipated during the upcoming week.

We thank you for your business and appreciate the opportunity to serve as your transportation service provider. We welcome your feedback and questions.
