Intermodal Service Schedules Help

 Intermodal Service Schedules

This site provides schedules and service offerings for trailers and containers in BNSF's primary Intermodal lanes.

Please select a "Lane" (Origin and Destination) in the list box to obtain the search results. Other selections including "Service Level" and "Equipment" are optional search criteria. If you select "Search", all schedules from your search criteria will be displayed.

To sort the lane list by origin, click on the Origin link. To sort by destination, click on the Destination link. The box that appears just below the Origin or Destination link will allow you to navigate within the list of lanes. Enter the partial name of the Origin or Destination you are looking for and the list will scroll to that point.

The schedules are listed by the Lane and show cutoff times at Origin and the associated availability times at Destination. Schedule times are listed by the day of the week. Notification will be provided to the notify party (indicated on the shipping instructions) at the time of availability. For more information on notification, see the BNSF Intermodal Rules and Policies Guide, Storage Item.

To meet various customer needs, BNSF offers several service levels:

  • Service Level - E (Expedited): Competitive with team driver service, this service is for extremely time-sensitive shipments.
  • Service Level - S (Standard): Truck-competitive Premium service that is comparable with single-driver truck service.
  • Service Level - Y (Empty): Service provided for the movement of empty equipment.
For questions on Y (Empty) schedules (not shown on the web) or other services, please call your Intermodal Marketing or Customer Support Representative at 1-888-428-2673 (1-888-IBU-BNSF).

The schedules are based on service under normal conditions and are subject to change without prior notification.

Please note the following:

Chicago - Chicago is the proper name listed in the schedules for the three Chicago area BNSF Intermodal facilities: Cicero, Corwith, and Willow Springs.

Seattle - Seattle is for international traffic only.

S. Seattle - South Seattle is the domestic intermodal hub.

Tacoma - Tacoma is for international traffic only.
