Permit Embargo Affecting Ferromex Interchanges Cancelled

Date
Jun 10, 2022

BNSF has cancelled the permit embargo regarding southbound traffic destined for interchange with Ferromex (FXE) at our Eagle Pass and El Paso, TX gateways. The cancellation was effective at 11:00 a.m. Central Time today.

The embargo (BNSF002322) was issued in May due to congestion associated with an FXE system migration issue. Railcars that were holding as a result of the embargo will be released for movement. Northbound shipments interchanging with BNSF at these gateways remain unaffected.

About Embargoes:
Embargoes are temporary holds placed on freight to restrict the acceptance and handling of freight. You can search embargoes at the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Embargo Railinc website here (enter "BNSF" in the Issuing Road field to view active embargoes).

Your business is important to us. Thank you for choosing BNSF Railway as your transportation service provider.
